Saturday is the day when Lord Shiva swallowed poison and danced in between Nandhi’s forehead and this is called Shani (Sthira in Sanskrit) Pradosham. Whenever pradosham comes on Saturday which is quite rare, that helps a person to remove his karma that is caused by the negative infliction of planets and at the same time grant a person with the grace of Lord Shani and Lord Siva.

Somavara Pradosham:
One of the names of Lord Shiva called Soma. Lord Someshwarar means “One who prays the crescent Moon (the Soma) on his matted hair. Soma means “Saha Uma” (Goddess Parvathi). Somavara (Monday) is not only a very propitious day for Lord Shiva but also for Goddess Parvathi too. Hence offering poojas on all Monday Pradosham helps a person to gain abundant blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi.
Another cruel form of Lord Shiva is Rudra. When we worship Rudra can eliminate disease, enemies and destroy negative force or energy or karma within a person from the outside elements. In order to make poojas, getting the blessings of Rudra is extremely propitious. The rituals can be done on a Saturday Pradosham or Monday Pradosham is said to be really auspicious.
